Colin Kohlhaas is a PhD historian, freelancer, and author who explores the intersections of class, masculinity, race, and violence in early-20th-century urban America. He earned his PhD from Binghamton University in 2024 and has published in platforms like Clio and the Contemporary and The Conversation. Colin also writes for local news organizations in central Pennsylvania, examining the relationship between history and politics. He is currently working on a freelance basis for the Bucks County Beacon as a reporter and contributor. As a fiction writer, his stories often draw from his academic interests, with a focus on American masculinity. His debut novel, Dream Hangover, is set for publication in 2025.
Colin is also an avid writer of fiction, with works spanning the horror, fantasy, and literary genres. His fiction stems largely from his academic interests, with a particular focus on conceptions of American masculinity. He has written a number of short stories and his forthcoming debut novel, Dream Hangover, is tentatively set for publication in 2025.
Colin lives with his girlfriend and three cats in their hometown of central Pennsylvania. When not reading and writing, Colin enjoys cheering on his sports teams, watching horror movies, and playing board games with his family.
